Hi Michel,
Thank you for taking a close look. Your first response advised me to break
down the research into modules and send specific questions to the list. I
agree completely (and Howard Rheingold said something similar on the CoCo
list). First, I'm going to step back to the 50,000 foot view for a bit, and
then focus back down to something more specific so that I can come up with
some specific questions.
So, whether I focus on open manufacturing, political campaigns, etc., will
be determined by this exercise. My thinking right now is that I will focus
on the open design of a web service - an actual fully functional website and
online community (not merely the open source codebase on which such a web
service might run).
So here's a specific question: What are some examples of online community
web services in which the members are directly involved in the management of
the web service?
I expect the next mutation to arrive in mid-February.
