some first reaction ...

you write: How can we build a platform that supports the social production
of a car? Of a political campaign? Of a currciculum?

my sense is that we need very different infrastructures ... you're strong
point is possibly the political campaign, a hot topic of course, but I would
suggest a more stricter focus on the infrastructure needed to support open
design and manufacturing communities.

of course, by all means you can have a general chapter, but once that is
done, you should delve into the specifics;

if you choose that subtopic, then you will find that there are a lot of
people here that can help you and have thought about it already,
