Hi Marc,
I see the commons as "universal availability" but "to the extent possible"
For me this means that generalized non-reciprocal exchange is primary, but
where the polarity of abundance tilts to scarcity, as it will in all
physical commons and certain aspects of the digital commons, then we need
other methods, such as the one you are proposing.
Of course, you can argue, as I think you do, and as Patrick does, that true
non-reciprocity does not exist, or there can be a debate about where it
begins and ends,
but in any case, there is definitely room within the commons for different
methods of resource allocation,
