Freedom<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0525951571/ref=nosim/globalguerril-20>,
the
new book by Daniel Suarez. This is a continuation of his first book
Daemon<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0525951113/ref=nosim/globalguerril-20>(also
a great read, and worth reading before you get this book).

In short, it is a fictional account of the next American revolution (AR 2.0)
using resilient communities, open source warfare, systems disruption,
individual super-empowerment, parasitic predation, hollow nation-states,
etc, (all staples of global guerrilla thinking) as central themes. Very
cool.

Granted, this is a work of fiction. It does contain some future, yet to be
developed, tech (although this is limited, in large part, to near term
advances in augmented reality) and some plot devices (mad genius) to advance
the story. I happen to enjoy that, but even it you don't, it in no way
takes away from the quality of the reading experience. It's fast paced,
compelling, and fun. For people thinking about the future of warfare,
society, economics, etc. : this book will get you thinking in new and
useful ways.
