Hi Ryan,

just a little exercise about the 'sources' of p2p culture, I'm thinking of
movements that were well in place before 2000 already, to distinguish it
from the more recent expressions:

- the free software movement, for pioneering self-construction of software

- the hacker's movement more generally for 'taking technology' in our own
hands

- copyleft movements in various cultural expressions, art, music, etc...

- internet developer communities and their distributed network ideas

- independent media activism

- alterglobalized networking and new organisational forms in politics

- remix culture in music in general , in particular the DJ culture in
techno-music

- locavore and local currency movements

- gaming and fan-fiction

- maker and craft movements ...

- open access movement in science, scholarship and publishing

- p2p learning movements such as homeschooling ?

- participatory spiritualities

- distributed energy efforts
