Kevin:

I agree with Michel that it is a great review, and it is a vision I
find plausible in many respects.  The decline of central order will
undoubtedly come with severe outbreaks of violence especially in highly
armed societies like the US.  My guess is that technology is used as Big
Brother to avoid such problems.  RFIDS on all vehicles, robots and perhaps
even people, etc.  Pylons everywhere that report things to big public
databases.

Low grade malaise is the most likely outcome.  The world becomes a
dysfunctional Caribbean island, say, Nevis or, more ominously, Jamaica.
Everyone hangs out.  Vice flares from time to time.  Religion and technology
have churches devoted to them and those who proselytize for members.

There are neuromancer and blade runner elements I think could be worked into
this quite well, too.  Interest though.  Thanks for the review.
