Agreed.
As much as I hate the $22 extra I can see this working out as an experiment
in Open Funding ("software") and if anyone here would want to contribute to
cloning Fundable we can think of having our own alternative clone without a
fee.
Key features of Fundable that are desirable:
1. Funds are not taken even after they're pledged and are held until the
fund reaches the total sum. This motivates everyone, including the
recipient, to engage in fund raising until the full sum is obtained, which
in turn assures the fulfillment of the recipient's purpose.
2. Everything is transparent without any manual work. All transactions can
be seen. Current amount, etc.
3. It's a website and as such we can promote the fund raising to people
outside of this list (i.e. to others who maybe interested in donating but
are not on this list) by sending them the URL.
If enough people donate thru Fundable then we'll have grounds for cloning it
and removing the fee in our version of it.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
