I agree with this.

I can attest that I do benefit from mutual learning via coworking. So
physical presence is important, but need not always be highly centralized.

One of the areas where Universities can currently still shine are in
pursuits such as biological science, particle accelerators, certain
engineering pursuits.

Even in these cases, the University could be like an accelerator, that then
also helps to seed the projects by opening the IP and letting many work on
development in parallel.
