Those "free" services are costing us our autonomy from one of the world's
biggest capitalists... and in the case of network-centric computing (aka
cloud services) it's costing us in resilience and sustainable abundance (due
to single point of failure and concentration of power, respectively)
Most people don't think deeply enough about things. So to say that Google's
"free" services aren't costing us anything is incorrect, based on what it is
costing us in autonomy, resilience and sustainable abundance.
