1. Centers for Action Research and Emphasis on Informing Solutions or Posing
Authentic Problems

2. Anti-credentialist

3. Facilitators of bold and high risk research projects

4. Validation venues for assessing rigor of all sorts

5. Places to find mentors and peers

6. Facilitators of open collaboration

7. Enablers of talent management processes

8. Transitional zones for younger people to enter lives of meaning and
productivity

9. Life long learning facilitators

10. Experimenters with new modes of association, living, interaction, and
financial relationships

11. Archives

12. Oases for reflection, discussion, exploration for large numbers of
people.

13. Institutional homes for certain valued intellectuals who demonstrate a
willingness to produce whether or not they have "incentives."
