Hi Tere,

I similarly avoid the s-word.

While I respect the tradition, I think it comes in many varieties, many of
which are tied to centralized conceptions of state power, some unpalatable;
it is also clearly linked to industrial capitalism, and I find that current
audiences are no longer receptive to it, while they are to a narrative that
used contemporary language related to p2p, openness, commons etc... .
Finally, if we are integrative in our approach, this means that the
socialist tradition is just one of the traditions to draw from.

In other words, I would look for 'trans' - disciplinary approaches, that
start from the problem to be solved, and can draw on many solutions coming
from various directions. We respect and use the tradition, but are not
beholden to it,

Michel
