It's taken me a few months, but I've just finished reading "The Nurture Assumption" by Judith Rich Harris. It is subtitled "Why Children Turn Out The Way They Do, Parents Matter Less Than You Think And Peers Matter More."
This book has gotten a lot of press lately, and the attention is well-deserved. The book is well written and persuasive. It has changed the way I think about parenting and about explaining a lot of puzzling social behavior. I strongly recommend it.
