I certainly cannot speak for anyone else on the list. But, I would dare
say there might
be some on list who wish that weapons, both mass and singular, were
pitched into the
trash bin of history. And, we could all live in the bright extropic
future we envision without
needing to protect ourselves and our families. But, the fact of the
matter is we ain't there yet.

I personally do not see any difference between gun ownership (for
personal protection) and
cryonics, anti-aging supplements, exercise, or any other strategy
employed to gain an extended
life.
