Yes, I've known about this case for quite some time. We all know that
cryonics requires a certain amount of faith in both future technology and
current technology, but it is truly interesting to see how much importance
people place on each. I'm a major advocate for the best possible procedure
before suspension...something which I am not sure if any cryonics
organization past or present has or has had, but some, like Bauge, don't
seem to care all that much about quality control going into and during
suspension. Perhaps too much faith in future tech? There are no
scientific guidelines or any current proof, so it's impossible to say.
This article is a very good indication of how bad it can be, and certainly
doesn't give cryonics in general a good name.
