Both. The moon has undergone volcanic subduction of ores over the last 4
billion years. There are large deposits of illminite comprising the lunar
surface of dust. That is, titantium and aluminium, as well as sulpher,
phosphorus, potassium, uranium and thorium. Do not discount the major impacts
of both stoney-iron and carbonaceous chrodrite meteors, and what they have
contributed to the mix.
