December Lights: The Geminids Meteor Shower!

One of the brightest and richest meteor showers of the year takes place
during December when the Geminids are streaking across the skies.

When can you see them?
The Geminids meteor shower will be active from December 6-19, and will
peak on Thursday night, December 13-14. The best viewing hours are
between 10pm and 2am.
Tips:
1. A new moon usually means clear viewing. The show will be in the
eastern skies.
2. The Geminid meteors can be quite bright, but there won't be very many
trains. You can expect to see more than a meteor per minute.
3. Because of the brightness of the meteors, viewing will also be good
on the nights just before and after the peak of activity.

Now, for all those interested in researching electrophonic phenomena,
this may be a good time to do so. Get your parabolic microphones out,
your tape recorders, etc and lets get some recordings for the web!
