I agree. Just because the world can't detect the difference doesn't mean
there isn't one.

How about this scenario:

My twin brother kills off every member my family and anyone who knows either
of us. He also burns all our medical records. The world cannot tell us
apart now.

I don't think anyone would argue that this makes him a "copy" of me. Not
being able to tell doesn't prove anything. I still am in one body and not
the other.
