Someday, someone will finally prove that "continuity of identity given
deactivation followed by activation of an identical copy" is equivalent to
the Axiom of Choice, after which we can all get some sleep.
Until then, I propose that Godwin's Law be extended to cover all disputes
over personal identity which cannot be directly resolved by physical
experimentation.
