I've sworn that I've heard meteors before, and during this shower as
well. It did sound like a sort of staticy/sparkler sort of sound, very
faint. Just how does this 'electrophonic sound' work?

On a related note, I also witnessed a Russian rocket booster reentering
north of Seattle once. Reentering man made debris seems to me to be
quite different from regular meteorites. Man made objects tend to break
up much more fluidly, it seems. Perhaps it is the slower reentry speeds
that create the different perception.
