"Actually", twin non-coaxial tilt rotors with transmissions, such as the
V-22, are a bad idea due to their failure modes. Quad or hex tilt rotors
are less so. Double redundancy on the powerplants looks like a good
idea, too. Quite possibly in 30 years someone will have developed
magically ultrareliable technology for VTOL airflight. But I'm betting
it won't look that much like the V-22; more like the Moller. And if it
has self-healing impellers, who knows *what* it'll look like? I'm a
"ducted" fan, myself. :)
