This position appeals mightily. Whoever pushes intelligence to the SI level,
whoever plants the first viable seed of superintelligence in a box (SIIAB)tm,
deserves to feel a full-on Norman Mailer-type post-orgasmic blend of
fulfillment, satisfaction, completion, and ecstasy beyond words.
The wonderful dimension of existence, the great thing about life, is that it
luxuriates in the creation of complex adaptive systems that can grok the beauty
of this evolution. Who knows how many millions of civilizations life will expend
in its evolution toward technological singularity. Men produce billions of sperm
for every child conceived. Life may create billions of Type 0 civilizations in
order to evolve one TS.
Let's go for it.
