Just a footnote: the word 'cracker' already has a well accepted meaning within the african american subculture. It means 'white person', more or less an updated version of the term 'honkey'.
And this usage has already gained widespread acceptance among the legions of young, white suburban hiphop-heads who emulate black culture. This will inevitably hinder attempts to push the hacker/cracker distinction into the mainstream.
