A couple of things that differentiate science from belief systems:

-Science pays it own way, without tax exemption. Churches don't have to pay taxes, and consequently function as parasites.

-Scientists don't try to kill groups that disagree with them.

-Science relies on empirical evidence; religion relies on faith.
