By the way, let's look at a definition of terrorism:
From Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) [web1913]:
Terrorism \Ter"ror*ism\, n. [Cf. F. terrorisme.]
The act of terrorizing, or state of being terrorized; a mode
of government by terror or intimidation. --Jefferson.
From WordNet (r) 1.6 [wn]:
terrorism
n : the systematic use of violence as a means to intimidate or
coerce societies or governments
"Punish those responsible" is fine. But the more bloodthirsty calls for
turning Third World countries into glass-paved parking lots -- I'm not
exaggerating, at least in other fora -- are the same mindset (sans suicide)
which struck yesterday: rule by violence and fear.
I suppose that's not entirely true; some people seem happy calling for
outright genocide.
