There is plenty of quantitative data for various things increasing, but
it is 1) heavy to dig through (you have to actually got to the library,
rather than just read the net) and 2) open to multiple interpretations
(what does really the number of patents per year measure?). I think our
discussion have shown that it might not be very interesting to look at
such data, but rather at more careful analysises.
