Of course you can scan the totality of the physical substrate, cryo AFM
looks like it can be developed into bulk imaging by interlacing it with
abrasive stages, and it does look scalable.

How does submolecular resolution sounds like (actually you can resolve
atoms in NaCl, but that's real overkill), including total resolution of
single molecule structure, if required? Over entire body volume, of
course.
