I'm afraid they are talking about a normal camera, albeit very small. It
generates light and takes pictures of the reflected light. It is not
communicating with the neurons with light.

The most fascinating thing to me is this terse comment:

Wooow, do brain neurons produce light? And are they sensative to real light? I have never heard anything like this before.
