Ho hum. A countercurrent heat exchanger and steam reformer, using
partial exhaust gas recirculation to provide the steam source. It's
been done before, better, and the maintenance cost of cleaning the
sludge out of the volatilization chamber outweighs the convenience of
not needing to refine the fuel. Contrary to the inventor's "no
pollution" claim, this thing would put out terrble amounts of sulfur
dioxide if operated on sour crudes- and sulphuric acid is *not* usable
as a fuel no matter what processing you do on it.
His "reactor rod" is merely a displacer to force the vapor to flow
through an annulus, providing better heat transfer. Since this is a
central part of his patent, is could be circumvented by simply using a
different (but equally effective) heat exchanger geometry.
Yet another crank tinkerer.
