I think folks like Zubrin can't allow themselves to think too clearly about
the impact of mature nanotech on space technology because, if they do,
they'll risk a kind of paralysis in their current advocacy activities. If
one clearly sees what will be possible in no more than 50 years, it's hard to
advocate the kind of programs folks like Zubrin work for.
