The second sentence is undoubtedly true, which is probably why few people outside the
Linux hacker community have heard of Cheapbytes and the like, or would buy (or be well
served by) a CD-only (sans manual & support) distro.
(as an aside: I run RedHat at home; I've been doing Unix sysadmin and development for
quite a while so I'm comfortable muddling through - and I certainly wouldn't wish any
Linux distro I've seen on your average Windows user.)
