An interesting paper - thanks for pointing it out.
The mass media does a bad job of highlighting mysteries -
they don't tend to mention them until someone has a theory
to explain it.

We do seem to live in very interesting times - my guess is that
we'll know what most of the dark matter is one way or another
within two decades or so.
