I was watching FOX news last night. The anchor said:
This celestial event only occurs once a year. It is called the
northern lights or Aurora Borealis. It is a meteor shower that will
cause havoc with our satellite communications. It is caused by solar
flares from the sun. Scientists are trying to figure out how to stop
this phenomenon.
This is from memory, but it's pretty close. Did anyone else hear
this? I couldn't believe that someone could read that out loud
without realizing that it didn't make any sense. The copy was
obviously written by someone who didn't understand what they were
reporting.
