No problem. Simply substitute the /dev/null line by some file name, e.g. plonk. All rejected posts will then go to $MAILDIR/plonk, where you can periodically review them to acertain you didn't miss anything critical.

I'm using VM under XEmacs 20.4. At current INBOX size approaching 10 k mails (I have 160 MBytes RAM, though), XEmacs search mechanism is still adequate. There is an XEmacs for Windows as well, btw.
