I think lack of pockets is an excellent example of where personal
morphing justifies itself merely on practical grounds. Having a natural
pocket is an immensely practical feature for an intelligent being, but
on the evolutionary side, could possibly be a detriment to the
development of intelligence. Imagine that having the ability to think
abstractly enough to invent carrying tools like bags or water jugs is a
huge evolutionary filter.
