No. We pronounce the world as we spell it:
\'e (e with acute accent) is like the e in petty,
l'\'e is like lay pronounced without the final y sound.
co-no-mist is pronounced pretty much like in english, except with a french
accent, and stressing very slightly the last syllable instead of stressing
strongly the "co".
