Yes, it sucks to be living in a 3rd world country, but there's
still flatrate and even xDSL to be found, unless you live in the
hicks.
But I don't mind the redundant quoting, I mind the notoriously HTML-
posting academics who feel they have to post half a MByte MS Word
.docs to mailing lists as a CFP, and mindlessly use vacation on
mailing list accounts ("Prof. Dr. WankWank is Out of Office,
and won't be able to reply to your email, Oh So Sorry"
-- there should be really email software easy enough even
Ph.D.s can use it)
