I must agree. Having passed through a number of different belief systems
myself, I don't think I ever faked it just to get money or approval. I
really believed I was onto something. Later, I learned more and my beliefs
evolved into something else. I think most people really believe in what
they are doing. We hear about the high-paid money-grubbing evangelist on
the news a lot, but we don't hear about the many more who are poor and
donate their time and money to their religious pursuits.
