In my case there will likely be an 8 person crew, but boredom is still
going to be a major problem. VR is of course one possibility, but
variety is extremely important to keep interest up. So I am thinking
of hiding "surprises" for the crew that only become apparent after a
certain time. Also, personal interaction is often more entertaining
than solitary entertainment, so the groundside psychology team will
likely come up with a lot of games, roleplaying, plays and other stuff
to do. But even then it is going to be yough, and in this scenario
there won't even be a nice view outside the ship to watch.
