Just the expensive stuff the zoomies get. The cheap stuff us
ground-pounders got needed active guidance the whole way (TOW 2, which I'm
pretty sure is still in use). The controller would track an IR source on
the tail of the missile, and whenever it diverged from dead center in the
crosshairs would send correcting signals. If the signals were lost, it
could go on to hit the target, or go wild. Just dumb luck...
