Probably not- square-cube and lots of empirical results show that
smaller critters have higher metabolic weights per kg- consider the
power output of 100 kg of hummingbirds vs 100 kg of ostrich.
BTW, Spike, you'll love a short story in the latest issue of analog,
about a minimalist mars mission...
