I guess you'd just get different amounts of usable land depend on
how much nearer or further from the sun it is. If the difference
isn't too great, a planet nearer to the sun might have an
uninhabitable equatorial region, but big comfy polar regions. The
closer you get, the smaller the comfort zone becomes. The same
applies for one further away, except that most of the unusable
land is too cold instead of too hot.
