After I wrote the comment about Pirsig's Motorcycle Maintenance
being silly, I looked it over again and remembered why I liked the
book in the first place. I should make it clear: I *like* silly. The
work is brilliant self-reference, a man writing *thru* mental
illness and still communicating quite effectively. I wish I could do
