Wellll... I generally agree with you, but this statement should have
some caveats... the mechanism we finally decide upon for performing
our genetic engineering will hopefully look an awful lot like the
spontaneous order we're bucking to replace (only, ah, better).
So the idea is not to look at this like the genius planner who reasons
"I could do that better!" but as the genius gardener who reasons "I
could grow these better!"
