Its well known that gravity is caused by people having too many delicate
expensive things that have a high center of mass. Any anti-gravity device should
be made of cheap sturdy things. Cats aren't cheap, they may be picked up for
free, but they typically are high maintenence once they've got their claws into
your furniture (much like many women...).
