I don't know why Rand is being brought into this.
My position is that in the US, parents have rights. But in Cuba, nobody has
rights. Not even the right to flee.
The right to leave is a very fundamental right. Even in the middle ages, serfs
had the right to leave an abusive lord. I think we should make it very clear,
that we don't respect the government of Cuba, since it violates this fundamental
principal. And that we will allow Elian to stay. And if Castro doesn't like
it, he can always decide to grant his people their basic rights.
