Are you sure? I'm fairly sure that these discoveries are based on the effect of the planet on the motion of its star. A more rapid change is easier to detect, and a shorter year is easier to detect. Jupiter in its orbit accelerates the Sun a lot less than it would in Mercury's orbit.
