For the more avant-garde classically minded, I would heartily recommend Zappa/London Symphony Orchestra, Vol.s I & II, conducted by Kent Nagano; Boulez Condicts Zappa/The Perfect Stranger and other chamber works performed by the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the Barking Pumpkin Digital Gratification Consort; and the two volume set The Yellow Shark, conducted by Frank Zappa and performed by the Ensemble Modern.
