Supposedly until J.P. Morgan found out that Tesla wanted to provide the
energy free, resulting in Morgan cancelling the funding of the tower.
There are some who speculate that the blast in the forest in Siberia (I
can't remember the name of it) was a test of this technology by Tesla which
was slightly off target.
