The end of the universe will occur in about 10 trillion years, but
certain physical processes will continue far into the future,
scientists reported Wednesday. What we know to be the universe will
end when all the big stars like the Earth's Sun stop shining, said
astrophysicist Fred Adams of the University of Michigan. But no human
eyes will observe the event, Adams and his colleague Greg Laughlin
said. By that time, they said, Earth's oceans would have boiled away,
