This wasn't the main point of your post, but I couldn't ignore something so
far off base. "Occasionally"? The definition of "extropy", as found printed
in Extropy magazine, includes boosting intelligence as an integral part.
Practically all the Extropians I've known show interest, often intense, in
improving their minds. Hence the interest in (and articles in Extropy on)
smart drugs, creativity, rooting out mind-numbing ideas, improving rational
thinking, neural-computer integration, and uploading. How could you get the
impression that such interest is only occasional?
